Congratulations to Cass at @headlighted who showed her strength and won our contest!
Real moms. Real life. Join us and Bobs & LoLo to celebrate Mother's Day by sharing your snapshots of mom strength. Show us how you rock those school lunches, multitask like a machine, juggle the routine of work and family, or simply love on your littles!
Here are a few mom strength stories of our own to get things started:
From Tamara, the mom behind Strong as a Mother:
I need to call upon my deepest reserves of mama strength to get through the recovery from surgery for my Rheumatoid Arthritis, while still maintaining my usual level of momming. I do not want my son Finn to ever feel like Mama’s disease takes her away from loving and caring for him, so I work really hard to be present, take him to and pick him up from school, get him to activities, and just be with him, as soon after a surgery as possible.
This one was my fourth surgery since he was born seven and a half years ago, and what I have come to understand about my being a mother with a disability is that it is one of the best things that could have happened to him! This way of life has taught him about physical and mental strength, overcoming adversity, and the reward of working hard to put one foot in front of the other when all you want to do is lay down. He also knows that he is an important member of my care team, and this gives him confidence and pride.
Bobs & LoLo share a bit about life on the road with kids and crew in tow:
What does life on the road look like for us? Well, it’s undeniably an epic feat of momming! Our most recent tour involved two 5 hour flights, a combined 16 hours of driving, 5 hotels, 4 shows and an entourage that included a 2-month-old, 10-month-old, 2-year-old, a super grandma, and one mega tired hubby. Actually, make that 2 mega tired hubbies as the other one was left at home with the 3-year-old and 5-year-old!
Check out just what that looked like!
We test our mom strength on every musical adventure and we invariably thrive…or at least always survive.
We also tested our extreme minivan skills this past trip with 7 humans of various sizes, 6 checked bags, 5 carry on suitcases, 1 double stroller, 1 guitar, 2 diaper bags, 3 purses, 3 car seats and one hell of a lot of snacks.
So how do you show your mom strength - because we know you do every. single. day. Let us know for your chance to win!
